Description of project

His project objectives are to (i) evaluate the conditions of areas affected by the recent outbreak of bark beetles and determine consequences for climate change adaptation, resilience against future disturbances, and the provision of desired ecosystem services; (ii) evaluate forest owners’ motivations and attitudes to post-calamity restoration and identify major risks; (iii) to assess alternative forest development trajectories in the affected regions over the coming decades and identify implications for the forestry sector; and (iv) develop information and dissemination platform and materials that facilitate knowledge transfer regarding forest risk management, drawing from the achieved results, relevant scientific insights and international initiatives.
