The objective of the presented analysis is the calculation of the potential amount of direct costs of forest protection against insect pests, game damage and weeds. The calculation is based on typology inputs and optimal economic measures of silvicultural operations. Total direct costs of forest protection sorted by forest types range from 1,800 to 112,400 CZK within the rotation period, the highest being in the stands with the most intensive management. From the presented results it is evident that the highest costs of forest protection are achieved in stands with the highest intensity of management, followed by game damage costs and by costs of protection against weeds. The costs of protection against insect pests are the lowest.
