Description of project

The aim of the proposal is to develop a comprehensive methodological framework for soil monitoring in the sense of the Soil Monitoring Law. Proposal will provide a roadmap for the implementation of the Directive at national level, from delineation of sampling areas (soil units and districts), through design of sampling networks, assessment of the feasibility of monitoring and design of data reporting. Agricultural, forest and anthropic soils will be covered. The milestones are: I) Define soil units and harmonize them with international standards; II) Establish sampling network; III) Evaluate and propose methods of monitoring realization and set limits for soil descriptors; IV) Propose options for monitoring soil degradation processes; V) Propose solutions for data reporting and share.
