Description of project
The objective of the Project has been obtaining new knowledge enabling an identity check sources of reproductive material of selected trees by using optimized molecular-genetic methods. The knowledge gained will be used by the State Administration in the forestry and water management (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment) and by the National Program Coordinator (Forest Management Institute) in developing legislative regulations and subsidy policy of the Czech Republic. Within the Project the suitable genetic markers were surveyed, the database was founded; the archive of reference samples was built with the possibility of its further extension. Methodologies for authentication clones/ortets for each tree species have been developed. Comprehensive solution of the Project’s problematic will be achieved through the involvement of resource owners of forest reproductive material, entrepreneurs, both research and government institutions in the identity verification system of the sources of reproductive material.
