Description of project

This complex project is divided in several work packages: i) documentation of lowland spruce populations by the Forests of the Czech Republic, state enterprise; ii) Pests and pathogens survey at selected research plots; iii) Deriving of production markers and indexes for lowland Norway spruce stand on the base of National Forest Inventory data; iv) Survey of production an vitality on the provenience plots which includes the lowland Norway spruce ecotype; v) Compare Norway spruce vitality in lowland, middle altitudes and mountain regions on the base of national ICP Forests database; vi) Model water balance of N. spruce for selected ICP Forests level II plot; vii) Collect disposable information about the potential for reproductive material of lowland spruce ecotype; viii) General recommendation for management of spruce stands in lower altitudes.
