Description of project

The goal of the project is to develop objective methodological procedures for verifying the declared origin of reproductive material of selected forest tree species using DNA analyzes usable both for state control systems and for increasing the consumer protection of forest owners and producers. The elaborated control system would work on the basis of a comparison of the genetic compositions of the reproductive material and the reference samples. The current control system consists from only administrative records. An objective control method would also fulfill the obligation of the Czech Republic as an EU Member State to establish a control system with the preservation of a true identity.
