The paper is focused on the analysis of an expected change in the conditions of valuating forest stands in the transition from even-aged forests managed by the method of age classes to rich-structured forests managed by a new method based on the operational (statistical) forest inventory. First of all, our attention is paid to the issue of current methods of forest valuation as well as to their possible use for a new object of valuation, i.e. rich-structured forests. The analysis is focused particularly on the information assurance of valuation procedures and on the comparison of the existing and future availability of basic mensurational indices in forest management plans. We identified changes that are anticipated in forest management planning data, and will reflect in the increased exigency of expert work. As to the application of currently used valuation procedures, the results of the assessment indicate that no essential modifications that would require significant changes in the valuation of the wood-producing function of the forest are expected.
