Prosperity of six tree species was investigated in juvenile-stage forest stand. An experimental plot was established at an altitude of 520 m a. s. l. on Fagetum acidophilum site which had been used as meadow till 2001. Coniferous species mortality did not exceed 5% and broadleaves species mortality was less than 9% in the 8th year after planting. Douglas fir was the only unmixed conifer which was significant higher (456 cm) compared to Douglas fir mixed with other species. On the other hand, sycamore maple was significantly higher (325 cm) in mixture. Unmixed spruce, beech and fir did not differ from mixed variants. As for DBH, mixed larch, unmixed Douglas fir and mixed sycamore maple are the thickest species (67, 57 and 22 mm respectively). Studied conifers seem to be much more efficient in terms of forest environment restoration.
