The paper presents results of research that was conducted to evaluate stand species composition and stand structure including their impact upon humus forms state in the Nature Preserve Trčkov (Orlické hory Mts.). Three types of the forest stands which include spruce monoculture, beech monoculture, both on afforested agricltural land, and natural mixed multi-storeyed stand (spruce was the main species and silver fir and European beech were admixed) were selected for his research. Forest soil dynamics evaluation was further part of this project that was achieved by comparing of new data with older ones from the previous research. The results confirm distinct positive effect of beech on soil chemistry properties of the forest floor, as well as relatively rapid forest soil character restoration. On the other hand, pure spruce stand is approved unfavourable from the main soil chemistry characteristics point of view. Soil dynamics development between years 1996-2003 indicates continuing unfavourable changes – acidification, losses of the bases content in adsorption complex and decline of the available nutrients content.
