Abstrakt
Forest decline of Norway spruce stands still represents a problem, especially in areas that were exposed to the air pollution in the past. The assimilatory apparatus of the Norway spruce (Picea abies /L./ Karst.) has been petting yellow and the stands have been gradually drying up in the region Slezské Beskydy Mts. since the year 2004. The reason of this phenomenon has not been explained yet. The study of epicuticular waxes changes can reveal or exclude some of the posible causes. The results of this study proved that the assimilatory apparatus was not primarily damaged by anthropogenic factors.
