Abstrakt
The article deals with seven tree species (Norway spruce, European larch, European beech, sycamore maple, rowan, Carpathian birch and Silesian willow) prosperity. The species were used for reforestation within a large clearcut area, the Hrubý Jeseník Mts., Northern Moravia. There are three research plots; one is at altitude of 1,080 m a. s. l. and two are at altitude of 1,180 m a. s. l. The study is focused particularly on comparison of mensurational characteristics of plantations such as height of trees and stem-base diameter achieved 12 years after planting including investigation of each species health. Environmental conditions were investigated by means of measuring climate characteristics and analyses of soil properties. According to the results, almost all tree species showed their suitability for the reforestation of the site of interest, except rowan and sycamore maple.
