Abstrakt

The article deals with analysis of forestry financing in 2000-2004. The analysis shows that the situation in financing forestry from public resources – national as well as foreign ones – is rather complicated. Czech administration allocates finances to forestry from various resources and subsidy titles. A large number of subsidy titles and resources can be misleading – it might imply that multifunctional forestry is massively subsidized. However, the real financial items are in fact rather small, though their administration and distribution are overly complicated and financially demanding by itself. Overall, it can be said that real forestry subsidies are only a very small part or financial means. Of the annual mean in 2000-2004 amounting to CZK 967 mil. presented as subsidies, the real subsidies are only CZK 271 mil., i.e. only 28%. The larger part of the so-called subsidies is in fact compensation or purchase of services by public authorities.
