Abstrakt

This paper analyses the conditions for the conclusion of contracts at the forestry contractors market in Slovakia. It is based on the theoretical background of the nature and existence of the market with services, economy of natural resources and transaction costs theory in order to explain the nature of the firms and innovations as well as innovations risk management. The main objective is to analyse contracts and risk management of innovation process of forestry services contractors. There are different aspects associated with managing innovations in this sector as well as effective ways to frame an organization’s approach to management of innovation risks. There was a sample of forestry services contractors surveyed using a standardized interview structured in a way to reveal particular contract terms and activities of contractors aimed at the management of risks in innovation process. The results pointed out specifics of this market related to the nature of forestry such as the willingness of contractors to conclude contracts under certain conditions related to risk reduction or long-term duration of contracts based on long-term relationships between the parties.
